The Heart (#01-2b)
Helo, and welcome.
This is my adventure blog.
I'm Sol Cajueiro, and this is my House at Blogger. The session I needed to write this way in a two separated posts, beucause it was too long. It is a series of steps ahead, from the character who's captivating much attention from my friends and followers at Facebook, his name is Eryck. Well, Eryck's a young navigator ejik at the world of Kalakoktwe, a complex name to some races to pronounce, so the native calls their world as Akkoya as well. Just easier for everyone. I welcome you to read one more chapter. In this, Eryck just entered the wizarding world, three weeks after he was introduced to magic first time, and it immedaitely follows the second Session, Stay Late #01-2a.
So, be ready to read about Eryck's story.
About the Music :: I do not intend any offence to anyone's right, and I do not really own the music I suggest my readers listen during the Story; the suggestion is in honour to the musicians who created those beautiful songs, and I explicitly want to thank you very much.

I had to divide the Session in two posts, a and b.
The Heart (#01-2b)
At the Wizarding Tavern,...
As soon as Eryck and Byénc, following Doctor Taf, got to the gardens down the village, they entered the tavern, called Heugulyast, a word that doesn't ring a bell to Eryck. A beautiful attendant, dreassed in old mythic clothes, with a cord as a neckline, came. She says "Good night, Doctor. Have a table, please", and Taf guided the invitees to a table near the kitchen. There are three lines os tables, each side, east and west, and a stage where there should the last north and east table be, by the restrooms.
All painted red, white and silver, small brick walls separe tables.
- Beer - said Byenc to the attendant girl.
- Hmm,... Ice Whisky - says Eryck.
- Honey, please - says Taf - and we pay kotollon.
- What? - asked Eryck.
- It means "credit" in Trade - explained the white girl, sametone, seen Eryck's confusion.
- That's good! I'm gonna need this word, for sure.
The attendant girl frowned, but was gone to take the drinks soon.
- Yes, Eryck - says Taf - It's like this:
1 telluron = 1.000 kotollon
1 vala = 300 kotollon
1 gold = 12 kotollon, base to the low economy
1 oka credit = 2.4 kotollon, so ejik economy is base silver (two times)
1 silver = 1.2 kotollon
- But the value is calculated up to telluron, and not down to gold. Work and culture are important to trade, so this can change a bit each place, or empire - says the fauk.
- Doctor. Thanks, but,... is it,... I noticed there's a different person in here, but I'm not sure why. That ikka,... she looks different from everyone in here.
- Ohe,... - he replied.
The attendant girl came with the beverage, and Taf stoped her.
Doctor Taf talked with the girl in Trade, so Eryck could only guess what they were talking. The girl nodded, and went to talk with the ikka lady. She went the whole tavern in silence, and when came to her table, she put her hand into her heart on chest, and still stays in silence. The ikka looked to her. There was no talking. Moments later, the ejik witch cumplimented the ikka, and turned to come back, but went to the entrance of the tavern to reception another group of wizards and witches coming, all with backpacks. Loads of people have backpacks, Eryck notice. And then, the ikka lady got off her small barrel upside her table, put her right hand on her mouth, and let it on the sun chang alien on her table, who nodded, and walking slowly, came to talk with them.
She stoped by the side of Doctor Taf.

- Good night, Doctor - says her soft voice, pretty sounding.
- Ohe, good night. This is Eryck - answered Taf.
- Helo - she says - Nice to meet you - and at this moment Byénc started to drink the beer in a rhithmic way, which called Eryck's attention, but not much.
- Ohe. Nice to meet you too - he answered, kindly.
- I'm Imá. Be welcome to Heugulyast, Eryck.
- Thank you, Imá. Well,... I noticed you look different from the other wizards,... and witches,... huh,...
- Huh,... Eryck's my invitee, tonight - hurried Taf.
- I see - says Imá - I'm different because I am a Vetalla, Eryck.
- Huh,... - he notice the doctor moves too much for a fauk, and started to think he do that to look more "ejik", like, he's living amongst ejikes, anyway.
- Eryck doesn't knew he's got a gift until soon, Imá - says Taf.
There was a moment of silence, but Eryck hurried to break the silence.
- I'm sorry. But my ignorance overcomes my knowledge.
- You can think this is all new, yes, but news get old very fast - Eryck remembered exactly, and this was the same answer his fellow Academy student Býl said to him.
- Huh,... thank you. I'm not sure I understand, but thank you.
- You will. Very soon - and Imá turned to Taf - Can you give me a cigarette, Doctor?
- Of course. Wait - Taf took a cigarette from the pocket pack, but lighted it oposed side from her, and so a cigarette for himself.
- Do you want to ask something? - Eryck was not sure it was a question from the ikka, now, but decided to give an answer, but he was not sure what to ask, exactly ("If only I had more time,...", he thinks).
- Huh,... mmm,... this is all new for me. I study starship navigation, and,... I like the sky (she noticed his skyboard, on his back). I only know I,... well,... I can "do" magic since two weeks ago, but I have a strong sensation there's so much I don't know, and I really need to (she closed her eyes) learn very fast.
He stoped, when she opened her eyes and they were total black. He got prepared to defend himself, for the ikka fury happens to them to kill everyone on sight.
But nothing happened.
- You need,... to listen to your inner voice. If you feel it, believe it - and she closed her eyes.
When she opened, they were light grey blue again.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPkLhSVtPS4
- Good luck, Eryck. And nice to meet you - says the ikka lady, as a goodbye.
- Oke. Huh,... nice to meet you too, Imá - he replies, tense.
She nodded to Taf, who retributed, and went calmly back to her table, and to her barrel upside it. She made Eryck feel she's someone very important.
- I,... don't understand. Was she in fury,.. or not, doctor?
- She's a very special member of this community, Eryck, but I feel you have another question.
- I have to repeat it, but my ignorance overcomes my knowledge. What is a,... vetalla?
- She,... (Taf sighed),.. is a vampire.
- Oh,... - he imagined nothing to say about that.
Eryck's mind blowed. His state native, Abbas, is told to be the home to the noble vampires into mythology, so, he immediately imagined all which could be true of false about vampires. They all drink blood. Sun burns them, but they can endure it for some time. Cast no reflect. Can't cross running waters. They fabric illusions, but only if you feel they're close to you. They prey and hunt during full raýla moon times, and hate stupid questions. They can even attack if you sound too stupid, even if they friends you.
And most of all, they're predators.
- Have I said something bad to her, anyway? - he asked Taf.
- No. You were smart. And I think she liked you, when fury attacked her. But I didn't answered you. I'm sorry. The word vetalla is a word in her language, and it's a very important title.
Eryck swallowed, but feels a bit of relief.
- Vetalla means "elder", in the vampiric language.
The young navigator started to think. Here he is, at a wizard's and witch'es tavern, and all he imagined was the very history, even from his own origin, this all, comes to nothing. He doesn't know magic. He's unaware of History. The fact he can do magic is minimum, this way. He can feel an urgency. All the time. Since he received a letter, telling him not all people are bad. Well, this mean some are. So, he needs to understand history, more than magic, and the doctor was looking at him a bit curious.
- What?
- I have an idea - and he puts the right hand around his mouth - Table five.
They waited, until the attendant come.
- Yes, doctor? - says her.
- Do you,... have,.. "zenzen"? - asked the doctor.
- I,... (she swallowed).. well,... - and she looked up to nowhere, saying "Yes. Yes, of course", and says - Yes, doctor. We have it.
- I need a bottle, then.
Eryck didn't understood anything.
- What is it? A drink? She got strange when you asked - he questions.
- It's a special drink, and you'll drink it.
- Me?
- Yes.
The attendant comes from the kitchens, holding a very small bottle, maybe a 40 small liquimeasures bottle, like it was an explosive.
- Here it is - and she put the bottle on the table - It's two pieces.
The fauk took two dark grey coins from a small bag, and gave to the girl. She went away, giving the sensation this is something a lot unusual to see.
Then, Eryck took the bottle, opened, and drunk.
A few moments later, everything was changing colours, and blur came. It was like a mist, a fog, was in there, and things became strange. He sees a number of spirits in there. The torches become slow, and he could see like small creatures of fire on top of them, like, dancing. He looked immediately to the vetalla, but she gives the sensation that she's perfectly normal, what's really strange, 'cause no one in here seems normal. They all have symbols, on their clothes, bags, and everything. A man on the exact near table has a strange tattoo on the back of his left hand, which gives the imense notion to be something negative, of mean. All the young people have vivid aura, and that comes in degrees of more pale and organized through the older, and Eryck tries to say that to Taf, but he only rised his hand in response, and then he sees.
A small creature, a bogling, pale and spiritual, poke the leg of a man. Then, the man scratched his leg, and he knew it was not a halucination this way.
He lost count of time, but he's pretty sure time is a happening.
Eryck sees a wrist clock on the doctor's left pulse, and he understood now why he always look to his pulse, when he says anything about time.
It's there. There is a clock, really.
And so, it all passed. He sighed, and says "Wow,...", really impressed this way.
- What is it?
- It's called zenzen. It's an Apu drink.
- I don't know much about 'em - says Eryck recovering himself.
- The apuka not only think normal alchohol isn't fun, as they worked a lot to make a drink which is 106 percent alchoholic.
- It would be poison to an ikka,... (Eryck noticed, in a murmur).
- Yes. You know, commons think this drink gives halucinations, but they're real.
- I know. There was a bogling, which poked that man's leg, and so he scratched his leg. This was the moment I thought it's real. And Byénc,... I noticed she's drinking in a rhithmic way, together with the torches, and the small creatures dancing up the torches. I know. It's real. What is it?
- This the apu explains - says Taf - The apuka are tough against magic, and they thought of a way to enter attune state easily. This, zenzen, is their idea of drinking.
- It tastes like hell - says the skeighta.
- And,... it is,.. pretty much,.. like Hell. Really. Yes, I'm talking serious. It's bitter like Hell.
- What happens?
- Hmm,... It makes you see beyond the Veil, Eryck. That's it.
- The Veil? You mean, like, lifting the Veil?
- No. You can't lift the Veil. What we usually see IS the Veil. The face we can see, after the Veil, is the Real. It's a plane, the same as the Standard.
- Standard?
- I,... The Standard is the very plane you come to, when entering a planet with a ship.
- Oh,.. that I understood. Well.
- All other planes are layers added to a Standard, and each place has different formation for their planes, so you can always navigate throught the planes using tridimensional Standard coordinates. I'm telling you this, because I think this would be important to you.
- And it is - says Eryck.
A man stoped by their table, tough and his eyes show intelligence.
- Ohe - says Taf - Mayor Kyf.
- Good night, Doctor - says the mayor.
- This is Eryck. Eryck, this is Kyf, our village administrator mayor.
- Nice to meet you, Eryck.
- Nice to meet you too, mayor.
- How's Olorin? - he turned to Taf.
- Everything's great, Kyf. Thank you, very much.
- You take care. Good night - says the man.
- Thank you - answered the fauk.
The mayor went to talk with more people, and some people were paying to leave.

- You see, Eryck? I've said I had to show you this place.
- Yes, Taf. It's amazing. I never imagined being in a place like this. And now I know much more than I did, before coming here.
- I thought you'd like - says Taf.
- It's,... like - he could not translate his feelings.
And so, this feelings happened to be followed by a sensation, that someone's behind him, this very moment. A person who was looking at him.
When Eryck looked, he saw the maximum of ejik beauty.
The girl looked them all, waiting, and so Doctor Taf looked and smiled.
- Hi, doctor - and her voice is also very beautiful.
- Ohe. Hi. How long - answered Taf.
- Can I sit with you? I mean,...
- Of course - and she sitted by the doctor's side, in silence, but her eyes and Eryck's meet quickly, and he noticed she seems a bit shy.
- Ohe, sure - says Taf - Eryck, this is Bykkatar.
- Nice to meet you - he said.
- Nice to meet you too. I,... just,.. Are you a skeighta?
- Yes. My life is linked to the skies - he says, and she made silence, sly looking to the table and glasses.
Bykkatar looks like a fae, from the mythology, thinks Eryck.
- Wait. I need a beer. Doctor,...
- Of course, Eryck - he puts the hand on the side of his mouth - Beer. Table five.
- I like flying - says Bykkatar, and that surprised Eryck.
- You fly? - and the attendant came with his beer mug, a one measure mug. He drinks, and it's the most precious beer he ever tasted his life.
- Of course. Everyone does, isn't it? I mean, like this - and she levitated her mug, softly.
- Ohe. Sure - says Eryck - So,... what do you do?
- I make beer.
- This beer? It's amazing. Best beer I ever tasted. Serious.
- Of course, I could do potions too. But I earn coins in the number, and components are too expensive.
- Components? - questioned Eryck, in doubt, because something said to him they're not something usual, as everything else in this place.
- You know. Fungus, conduit and telluron - says she.
- Of course (he had no idea what they were). Well, I,... don't know - and the doctor moved his hand to show she have to explain, basically as an ejik would do ("He's amazing", the young navigator thought).
- Well,... - she started - Life, spirit and matter.
- And? - he's kinda lost.
Eryck listens to Bykkatar's explanations, with much care. The girl simply explained the Universe, not only elements and components. He imagined how long will it take to be sure about any of that, but he understood much of what she was saying, but a word in here, a word in there.
- Oh,... that's,... amazing - says Eryck, and he looks Taf, finally understanting what he's studying in here, all that thing he couldn't understand, now make sense, for "These fungi forest show similarity with fungus" the fauk had said back house, during dinner.
- Precisely, Eryck - says Taf, and again Eryck feels everyone read minds.
- And you? What do you do?
- I study Starship Navigation - he responded, trying to look her eyes.
- Ohe. Space - says Bykkatar, with deep voice - I'm affraid of space, you know. The creatures,...
- I,... I'm not sure I understand - he forwned.
- Ah, you know. Poltergeists.
- Poltergeists? Like boglings? I know what it is.
- Yeah, but, in space,... they're huge, and they're dangerous. You know. Space in all full of life, and that creates the White, with, you know, the subparticles of existance, who comes down on the White. But that creates other life, and all the supernaturals.
- Of course,... - he knew absolutly nothing about it.
They stay in silence once more. Taf was observing Byenc, drinking in a rhithmic way, almost annoying, and repeating the same move all the time.
- Have you ever seen up the clouds, Bykkatar?
- No - she says - No, Eryck.
- You know. Beauty in nature is a way we can come closer to paradise - he says finally capturing her eyes, and she blushed, looked to Byénc, and back to him.
- We have all three paradises, here at Akkoya. That's pretty rare, you know. Besides that, our planes are just fine, safe and sound, or,... at least if you don't need to go the Oblivion.
- Of course. Well, I'll take you up there, one day.
- Huh,... of course. Taf, I need to go - she turned to the fauk, suddenly.
- Your explanations got to a higher level, Bykkatar - says Taf - If you have any question on plannar biology, or if I can help you with ecology, let me know.
- Of course, doctor. I could save kotollon to make potion as a life, and get rich - she smiled, and her smile is more than her abnormal beauty, it exceeds expectations.
- That's a nice plan, Bykkatar.
- Do you really don't know nothing about magic? - she asked, abruptly.
- Well,.. I can do this - and he concentrated to create a small mass of winds between hands, and the girl looked a way he could not say what she could be thinking.
- Huh,... nice. Nice to meet you, Eryck.
- Mine pleasure, Bykkatar.
- See you, Byénc. And have a nice memory call - says Bykkatar.
- I,... (Byénc stoped), sure. See you - and got back to the rhithmic drinking again.
Her eyes were trying to find a way to say anything, but she just went back to the kitchens, and Eryck was following her moves in his mind, as he's sitted back to the exact direction to the kitchens.
- I think it's time to go, Eryck. Byénc?
- Oka. I'll end this, so - and she drunk the rest of her last mug, at once.
- Just curious, Byénc, but,... what are you doing?
- This, Eryck? I erase my memory, each time I drink. So, I have the very first sip again and again.
- Waw. That would be incredible. And now, you'll understand what we were talking? I mean, you'll remember all we talk in here?
- Exactly. And now, I'll remember all these first sips at once. Wait.
- I just think two coins are too much - commented Taf.
- What were those? - asked Eryck, curious.
- Telluron - and Eryck mouthed a "What?", but no sound came.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CCjFelrCfg
Byénc suddenly became drunk. She had to hold on the table, not to fall. Opening her eyes, unfocused, and closing, and again and again, for a whole minute.
And so, she bacame herself, again, as ever.
Taf activated his Pk computer, to pay the bill, and they stand up to go. The corridor shows a number of symbols Eryck know are probably their family symbols, of to indicate magic. He imagined some would be about hidding this place, and that's a nice guess, but he can't grant.
(The Heart of the Forest)
When leaving, walking through the corridor, Eryck's attention was capted by the mug, in a table. It's the second table, from the entrance. Taf was talking happy with Byénc, saying he'll try that one of these days, and he'll need her to complete that task. The man on the table's turned to his friend, and his friend face was frowned, like when you listen to something strange for the first time. Then, the mug simply moved slowly, and fell. The entrance attendant immedaitely took a piece of wood, at the same time they stoped because it fell just when they'd pass, and with that piece of wood the girl reunited the mug again, levitating it entire again to it's place.
The man saw it all, ignore, and keep the talking.
- And so, the common looked at me and said, he was completely drunk: "But I remember that, and it happened when you were sixteen, and you had that Diary". No way. There's no way he could know about my diary! He was, I mean, I used everything I know. And I'm sure he's a common.
- Your mug fell alone, Mal-ec - says Eryck.
The man looked, but that doesn't meant much to him.
Eryck looks to Taf, and the doctor lose all his theater of being an ejik. He's imobile, almost not breathing, and his face turned to the face Eryck recognize from Protocol studies, at the Academy. Eryck was sure this all was just a theater, and now he's certain.
They walked, and the tavern immersed into a deep reality, with the distortion so characteristic.
- That was weird - says Eryck.
- Certainly - agree Taf - Let's not talk the way home. Byénc, you know what to do.
So, the way home was made in silence.
When they got to the mushroom forest, Eryck sensed something. The mushrooms were paying attention the them, somehow. He says it to the others, in a low voice, adding "If I had a weapon, I would draw it now". Taf says the trees are in silence, and Eryck saw he moving his hand in mid air, so a staf appeared on his left hand. The fauk so hold the staf and hit the ground saying "Anchor", then a transparent energy emanated from the place of origin, and went every direction. Eryck jumped over his skyboard, and said "Don't worry with me". Time was passing, and nothing happened until Taf say "This is dangerous. There's someone in here". Eryck responded "Let's go home. You need to be home, you know", and the fauk replied "No. There's something I can do". So, Doctor Taf holds his magic item in the air, and says in alloud as an order "In the name of Ambar, show yourself!", and when he hitted the gournd softly, there were waves of amber orange energies going in all directions.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCtgTpxgwjc
Byénc was turned the oposite direction, what Eryck thought was a good idea.
It hitted something, which started to fight the orange energy.
From a hand off the ground, til a 1.90 normeasure, it assumed a form of a face. Unejike. Weird, and aggressive, with a sensation of power and damnation coming from it.
It says: "Tacke!", and this all ended abruptly.
- He's still here - says Taf - No. The trees are saying he's not here anymore.
- I have a strange feeling I was in spacetunnel - says Eryck.
- We need to go the Heart - concluded the fauk, solemny - Byénc, can you see something?
- It had no mind, for me. I'll keep the guard.
- Let's go - called Taf.
More than fourty minutes later, they got to a strange part of the forest. In here, trees are high, like fifty normeasures, and they all looks like watching you.
There are roots on the ground, all coming from the same direction.
And so, they come to an enormous tree. The roots come from it. Taf made a hand move, to say they need to stay behind, and started to speak in tree sounds, like clicks and branches moves, new clicks, wind passing through the branches, and so, the tree responded the same way. It took several minutes to that all happen. Eryck know this is a very old tree, maybe a thousand years old. It's obvious. When the fauk finished, he called them back, and they sitted on the roots, nearby the oldest tree.
- He doesn't know which entity was that - Taf started - But I'm sure it was hidding from the Oldest. This mean the entity knows advanced tree knowledge.
- I think I was the target.
- Why do you think that, Eryck?
- Well, doctor. I have the feeling of spacetunnel yet.
- We need to see your memory - says the fauk.
- I agree with that.
- This magic is a really advanced magic, Eryck, and it gives you strange knowledge. What I'll do is called Veil of the Mind, and it's a bit dangerous.
- We have no other options, doctor.
- Well, then. Byénc, protect us while we see it.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeHi6Zpkcik
Disconnected images of what happened apeared around them. They have no body. It's like being out of body, and to be only a counscious mind without a body. You stay fit. You can't move. You see in all directions at the same time, and then they found a frame. A unique frame. The image of a nebula on a side, and a red sun on the other, with an asteroid belt nearby.
They see a huge number of ships.
All destroied.
The young navigator sees ships from many races. Even a zyt destroyer, in pieces. Two apuka large carriers, a mothership ejike, with thousands of fighters, all in pieces. There's a rakma pyramid templeship, which usually moves on the subspace, and a huge number of small fleets, from more than twenty races.
Each and every one, in pieces.
Then, the image was gone, and Eryck came back to his body, standing.
- This is unbelievable - says the young navigator.
- I've seen ships I never saw before, and I've travelled many places as an ecologist for the Trade Network. This is a message, for us.
- I think I've been followed. I can sense. Someone's always wathcing me.
- It's not you - says Byenc - It could be a message to the Academy. You cannot empty your mind. So, this everyone will get from you.
- I need to learn to empty my mind.
- I've said to you, jump to meditation in you databank - says Byenc.
- She's right, Eryck.
- I think I need to learn it all fast. Isn't that a way?
- I'm afraid not, Eryck - says his deep alien voice - Your reenrollment must happen soon, and you must know this Academy's tough.
- What can I do til then?
- I think you should come to Heugulyast village every time you can. This is a passage into the way of pilgrims, who travel the ways of the mythic eras. And you're welcome.
- I'll do it.
- It happens Byenc is right. We have been fooled, by someone wanting to send a message to the Academy, and we're not being followed.
- But,... how comes it? It looks everyone read minds, in this world.
- It's no true, Eryck. Byénc can read minds, because she's a psionic, and I'm pretty sure she know the dangers behind the gift.
- What?
- I,... - started Byénc, but Taf interfered.
- Psionics explode when they awaken their deep mind.
- I killed my whole family,... - her voice was full of emotions, this time - I didn't know, Eryck. No psionic came to me, in time to teach me.
- I didn't know that. I'm sorry.
- Then, I fled. I fled coming after a vision. I was at the Darkness. The Academy thinks, and everyone, that Drakness is only an attribute, an energy. It's not. I've been there.
- And so? What, now?
- I know a place where Darkness exist, and it is in your Academy.
- Ohe,.....
- I can't let you know this. Can I erase that from your memory?
- Yes, please - and he just know she fled.
- Whoever was that entity, it wanted to shake the Academy, and you're just in time. They all will read that, and there will be a mess - says Taf.
- What can we do, now?
- It's a fish bait, and I'm pretty sure the Academy will bite the hook. We have already done what we can do, and this will be seen, very probably.
- I think we should go now, doctor - resumed Byénc.
- That,... is wise - Taf completed.
Doctor Taf shown the way, with a hand move.
Then, they walked in silence through the forest. Taf entered home and clapped his hands once. Sometime later, Eryck and Byènc were at the tatame, at the second floor, but she arranged to sleep over the skyboard, with pillow and a white blank. He imitated her.
Starting to think who would be on guard, he listen to the forest.
He knows those clicks and tree noises mean the forest is watching, and so he thinks this is one of the very few moments he'll be safe. It's a safepoint. There is no sure or certainty about the future. He keeps the images of those wrecked fleets on his mind. Who would do that? More. Who could do that? To ships considered unmatched, like rakma, apuka and ly'ène destroyers? The images melted into dreams. He dreams with forests, mushrooms, and strange races of the forest. None of them care about destroyers.
(End of Session)
Some Considerations necessary
Is this true? Or fake?
I hope you're enjoying your stay at the Blog, and,...

- I'm Imá. Be welcome to
- Thank you, Imá.
Wait.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CCjFelrCfg
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCtgTpxgwjc
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeHi6Zpkcik

Stay Late (#01-2a)
Helo, and welcome.
This is my House at Blogger.
I'm Sol Cajueiro, and this is my adventure blog. The session I'll write this way is a series of steps ahead, from the character who's captivating much attention from my friends and followers at Facebook, his name is Eryck. Well, Eryck's a young adult ejik at the world of Kalakoktwe, a complex name to some races to pronounce, so the native calls their world as Akkoya as well. Just easier for everyone. I welcome you to read one more chapter. In this, Eryck is confronted with the world, words and worries he didn't know existed, before he was introduced to magic, and it immedaitely follows the second Session, Some Talking #01-1.
So, be ready to read about Eryck's story.
About the Music :: I do not intend any offence to anyone's right, and I do not really own the music I suggest my readers listen during the Story; the suggestion is in honour to the musicians who created those beautiful songs, and I explicitly want to thank you very much.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wqex3p3fyTo
I had to divide the Session in two posts, a and b.
Stay Late (#01-2a)
After some talking, up the clouds on west Ryklant, Eryck follows his friend the white girl Byènc, first down the clouds, and then west.
Ryklant is a huge city, with millions inhabitants. The westside is a huge 200 kilomeasures long area, in which machinery and worker droids take care of farms, each and every one planned by the Academy of Ryklant, to produce and sustain the city with ora grains, and fresh vegetables. They see huge worker droids from up, and the farms all somewhat draw geometrical lines on the ground.
Eryck's just following Byénc, in silence.
One hour later, she starts to get down, to what seems to be a small village. There is a forest, a very old castle, a village surrounded by walls. There is a square with five statues on the southwest part, and Eryck sees huge mushrooms covered with wire structures, when they finally start to approach the forest. This is a beautiful forest, in which the giant fungiform life gathers with trees natural to the northwest.
Then, a camera starts to follow 'em, until be in the same speed.
- Ohe, Byènc! How nice to see you. Come to the forest. I'm down to my labs.
Eryck notice the voice is really strange, and much deeper than normal, but when he entered the forest, his mind was driven away from that. He started to see symbols, everywhere. Symbols, like holograms, upside the trees and the mushroom forest, on the side of a structure, most geometrical. When they came to the "labs", he sees a man in a silk costume, who then looks at them.
He's a fauk.
- Ohe, Byénc. Be welcome - he speaks, with his alien arborean deep and vibrant voice.
The fauk cumplimented her, and looked to Eryck. The girl did nothing to introduce them, and Eryck thought she could make a basic effort to become a bit more social, but well, he knows she's terrible with socializing. There was a moment of silence, strange.
Ercyk notice his wooden appearance. Small leaves on his head, and his eyes which he knows, one thing he learnt at the Academy, are a deep emerald green series of membranes which gives them the ability to total awareness, or in other words, fauk look at everything at the same time. He notice too that the fauk uses a very light cloth, which is probably made of silking, but he uses a belt. Well, two. One by the hip, one by the torso. With loads of small and really weird silvery equipments. He never meet a fauk his whole life, but so he forces trying to remember things from the Protocol classes, he can't count much information on this race, and so the silence started to become somewhat stressing, besides the fact the man is a stranger, an alien.
- Helo, Doctor Taf. This is Eryck - she said, grudgingly.
- Ohe, helo Eryck. Nice to meet you - the fauk says, shaking hands with Eryck, and he noticed the alien moves too much, for a fauk, basically like an ejik would do.
- Helo, Doctor. Same to you - Eryck replies, with a smile.
- What brings you here? - the doctor asked Byenc, but she didn't replied.
- I don't know, Doctor, so don't ask me - said Eryck.
- He's learning magic - the girl's voice is sametone as usual.
- Oke,... I see,... well, come in - invited the fauk, and they entered the hut; Eryck sensed something strange at the very time he entered, and saw many symbols, all geometric the same as the symbols he see on the mushroom forest, just around them.
- Well,...
- You,... (the fauk noticed he's looking at the symbols), they're magical. Symbolic universals, basically. Oka. Tell me your story, Eryck.
- There's not much I can say - and he told everything about seeing the man killing the old lady on the upper appartment, the "monster eye spectre" and waking dressed to go the Academy (Ohe! The Academy? - surprised the fauk), and the following attempt to erase his mind, and all.
- I see - commented the fauk, and he took a cigarette and lighted it with magic.
- I think it was an agent of shadow.
- No,... I don't think so, Byénc. What may happen is,... it was a Doppelgangger.
- A Dop-what? - asked Eryck, moving his head ahead.
- A doppelgangger, Eryck. They're transmorphians, and a very rare supernatural. You were lucky to see one, 'cause most people can't during a lifetime.
- You're saying I was lucky? He tried to kill me.
- He was going to erase his memory - says Byénc in sametone.
- Yeah. That - Eryck was kinda nervous - Look. I don't know anything about this, at all.
- But you will. How comes you're at the Academy?
- I'm studying Starship Navigation.
- I see,... you're not inscripted,... but you will. It all depends on your reenrollment, and this will probably be very soon, so don't worry.
- Well, Doctor. (Eryck sighed). I'm not sure I want to study magic.
- I see,... (he notice the ejik was looking at the magic symbols). What's your gift?
- Elementalist - says Byénc, sametone again.
- Ohe! This is a rare gift. You should be proud of it, Eryck.
- Dunn'know 'bout what to be proud.
- Why?

- Well, Doctor Taf. I just woke, one day, with someone trying to kill me, oka, right, trying to erase my memory, and I was in mid air in a kind of wind hurricane and my room was a mess. I had to move on. And I received a letter! You know? A letter, a paper letter? Do you know Olýka the seer? (he waited, but the fauk didn't look to know her, so he continued). She said in that "Not all people are mean, and not everyone wants to harm you". Do you know what? I think I have no choice. I have the feeling someone is watching me. All the time.
- Huh,... (the fauk sighed). You seem pretty frustrated.
- I am.
- But you don´t have to be, Eryck - says the Doctor, very calm - You were a common. There are laws to protect the commons. They are the very stable mass of the universe.
- See why? Now I feel better. Now that I'm not a common anymore. I feel better. You're saying now I can get killed, because law doesn't protects me anymore.
- People of power make alliances very fast. The doppel won't come after you. How was your neighbor, after you looked again?
- Just fine.
- You're not remembering it well. Do you want me to remember you?
- Yes, Byénc - and then he saw it all again - Oha,... key. She was dressed in black, for a funeral, and there were two small girl putting everything into boxes. I guess she was moving on, so.
- It was not her, Eryck - resumed Doctor Taf - It was a doppelgangger, who stole her appearace, her money, and her life.
- See what? Now I can sleep peacefully with that.
- The awakening is a strong magic moment, and you were probably being watched. How long did you know about him, Byénc?
- Two days.
- What? You were following me?
- I saw you aura. It was deep green, and magenta on the left.
- Now you see aura?
- Exactly - Byénc wasn't making sense to him.
- What you mean, exactly?
- I think I can explain, Eryck - said the deep alien voice of Doctor Taf - You were manifesting magic. This is how she noticed you. But, wait. (he put his right hand around his mouth, to say this) - Yes. I have guests. Please make caoffee to us, and food. Yes. We'll be right there. (and looked Eryck, again) - Let's go my house. Olorin is waiting. You're just confuse, Eryck, and this time will surely cure.
- You're,... a biologist? - questioned Eryck, trying to change subject.
- Yes. I'm here for the last two hundred years, studying these mushrooms. They're really special.
- Wow - he had nothing to reply to that.
- I'm sorry. Well, I'm not used to talk about this all in this language. A common would understand.
- You see? This is all weird - replied Eryck.
- Let's go. Olorin's waiting - so Doctor Taf simply snaped his fingers and every magic equipment in there closed, or assumed standby, unless a small dome with a lone mushroom inside, but the fauk noticed his attention to that and decided to comment - You'll get use to it. Let's go.
They walked a brick way, and mushrooms, together with the pine trees from the northwest, all around a beautiful arranged and organized path.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsqorRyeWjw
When they got to the house, Eryck noticed it was made over an old ruin. Probably a very old ruin, now his house, and it was made of hard stone with very ejik roof and an expansion to the right and it has a garden inside. He stoped as the doctor stoped. Doctor Taf stoped in midway, in the moment of not outside and not inside yet, waiting for something Ercyk didn't know what it is. He notice the plants are not from this world. There are some plants orange, normal green, some white, other blue, and so they moved.
Eryck sees two young fauk kids he coundn't notice were there before. They were completely melted with the strange garden, immobile, until their father finds 'em.
The two children came to hug their father.
- Ouré la. Kók. Olorin né beri meridon, na momuride ni gerésse mó - said Doctor Taf to his children.
They waited for the children gat back to the garden, and entered.
- Was it fauk language, Byénc? - murmured Eryck.
- Fauk's one of the five languages to give birth to the Trade langi.
- Ohe,... interesting - he replied, in sutle admiration.
The went to another ambient, more comfortable. A somewhat living room. A fauk woman was in there, sitting on a bank and waiting for them.
- This is Olorin, Eryck. He's a friend of Byénc, Olorin.
- Nice to meet you, Eryck - she shook hands with him, and say "Hallo, Byénc" to the white girl, and so they sitted to eat, but Eryck looked to the food, waiting.
- Ah. It's fauk food, Eryck. Look - says Olorin - This is good. You'll probably like it - and she put the paste on a piece of bread, giving it to him - I,... don't think you'll understand what it is.
- No. No problem. It's delicious - says Eryck in response.
They eat and talk, and Doctor Taf explained a bit of the food, to add "And by the way, it's like a feast to us. Fauk only need to eat once a week, Eryck". The talk was soft. No stress. It was night, already, when they got to end talking and eating and talking about weather, or mushrooms, which are Doctor Taf's main subject. It looks like he's in here to study these mushrooms because of some special thing about it, but Eryck didn't understood well what it was, a thing about fungus, but anyway, he was feeling well, forgetting all that worries him.
It came a moment Doctor Taf thanks his wife, and took 'em upstairs.
Sure, the house has not a second floor seen from outside, but the Doctor walked into a long corridor, to an end into the very forest, and it's already night.
The veranda's not linked to the ground, sees Eryck.
- I came here to show you this. See - and he clapped hands.
Suddenly, all mushrooms heated, and lighted, with an orange glow which illuminates the forest. Eryck mouthed a brief "Wow,...", and Taf did it again. Eryck tried to high his voice to what only the closer fungi heated and lighted, but in different aspects.
- It would be amazing like, if, a choral sings near them,...
- Yes, Eryck. Well, Byénc. Are you planning to stay late, or go back today?
- I think we should stay.
- I don't want to bother you, Doctor - says Eryck.
- No, Eryck. You're welcome. I think there's a place I need to show you. You'll like it. I need some honey, anyway, and we should go now.
(The wizarding Tavern)
- I guess I can positively explain that, Eryck - says Doctor Taf.
- If you please, 'cause I dunno what that's all about. No clue, no blue. That's it.
- Her's are powers, yours are magic. (says the fauk). There's huge difference between power and magic, and by what I can say, you're a wizard. Magic is deeply the reason behind the universe, and on the oposite side, power do the same for an individual.
- Owe,... That explains why she can't never explain me anything - says Eryck.
- I do. But I think you better learn with wizards than me. I see the deep inside. You'll never do it - Byénc sounded a bit stressed.
- Like,... you read minds? - questioned Eryck in doubt.
- No, Eryck - says Taf - The powers define much more someone than magic. You should be thankful. She's doing it the right way.
- I am - says the young navigator.
- You say that too much - commented Taf - There's a lot to learn, before you understand the vices of language you use, but I agree with Byénc. You should ignore much of the databank, and go straightly to meditation, if you're so aware that people can see what you think.
- Yeah,... there isn't a faster way to learn that?
- Hmm,... I'm afraid not, Eryck.

The village is marked by a huge number of symbols, and the gardens all show them. Doctor Taf explains Eryck those are family symbols. Most wizards are families, old families, binded to magic since the mythic Era, so symbols become their trademarks, landmarks and the like. The symbolic universals are used everywhere, and so a wizard may feel home even out galaxy. That doesn't happen to mages. And well, mages are probably much more organized, probably much more theorical, and adepts my use different magic. So, but so different from wizards, the very concept of what is magic, and not only how to do it, may affect the way it's made, understood and tought, for a mage, and the fact you (Eryck) are on the Academy makes you are in between, together with the fact you didn't know much until you get of age, as the ejike races become of age very soon.
- Ejike races? You mean,... race? - asked Eryck.
- No, Eryck. I don't know how many ejik races exactly exist, but I know seventeen, maybe. Yes. I think there are seventeen ejik races catalogued.
Up the hill, there's a castle. It looks very old. Roads are stone. There are trees everywhere, and the wind passes throught the trees making noise. The central square has five statues, but they're not going there. The group went down north, in the direction of the gardens, which Eryck could see from up the hills they were arranged by the same way houses are built. There are parts not connected to the ground. And symbols everywhere, not lighted, but like they were made of mist, immaterial, but still visible.
- Now that explains why Byénc said she can't see the symbols - says Eryck.
- Yes. Probably, the magic which grant wizards to see those symbols is the very aptitude needed, but I'm sure she can do it in attune state.
- I can't, Doctor - says she.
- Attune state?
- Remember the state you entered by that first village I've shown you - replied Byénc.
- Ohe,... you've already explained that.
- We're here - says Taf.
They stoped in front of a garden, 60 per 150 normeasures wide. Taf says "Follow me", and they entered the beautiful garden. He stoped and said "Ring the bell", and Eryck saw a bell hanged in a tree, from which a beautiful and harmonious sound came. Then, Taf says "Hold yourselves", and the reality in itself started to become wider, as everything was enlarging, until they see the normal garden hides a huge construction. Eryck's a skeighta, so the ground moving was the easiest part of it. The distortion was the difficult one. So, a large construction with letters saying "Tavern" appeared, and the garden was really much greater now, with symbols on every tree, and an aspect somewhat dreamy on every corner, bank or even the ground in itself.
Everything shows magic sensations coming from it.
At this point, you probably know a person who's seen something for the very first time sees everything at the same time, and so Eryck saw the only person different in there. She was looking at him. It's an ikka woman, or girl, he can't say because they're pretty alike, and the same size an ejik eleven, but he's sure she's looking at him. They entered the tavern, called Heugulyast, a word that doesn't ring a bell to Eryck.

Some considerations necessary
How Eryck will deal with real magic into a wizarding tavern?
I hope you're enjoying your reading at the Blog, and,...
... Stay Plugged.

Some Talking (#01-1)
Halloi (Helo), and Be welcome.
This session happened on August 24, 2011. We were talking and drinking for too long, and so the real play was a bit short in time. I think it's tremenduously important to discuss with my players about their character's past, and about things not so important to the actual play, but which will indeed be important in the future, when that comes to the right time to talk about that.
About the Music :: I do not intend any offence to anyone's right, and I do not really own the music I suggest my readers listen during the Story; the suggestion is in honour to the musicians who created those beautiful songs, and I explicitly want to thank you very much.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_dtmBchdY4
(On the last Session,...)
The young Eryck looked Byènc, a white gorgeous girl.
He was just trying to keep her face on mind, and he knows she knows that. In his mind, he thinks she keep reading everyone's mind, but he's not sure it really happens.
- Hey, I'll have many things to do this week. So,... we can see each other next week?
It was more than he expected. He went home with her face on his mind. Her secret's safe. The safety, and sensation of safety he sensed when she was on guard, and prepared to one more week at the Academy. A different one. One in which he'd be studying Starship Piloting together with the basics on his new secret study, on which he thought would be special, from the basics, or he'd be in danger, again.
(End of Session)
What happened to the invader man? Who was him?
Some Talking #01-1 Solo
Eryck thought he's going to have a normal week at the Academy Base of Ryklant, as a plain thought, but then he went to classes on monday.
Although his abilities on math and calculation were great, he can't help himself.
He catches himself thinking about the skeighta girl, all the time, and he only forget yet still thinking about her when studying elementalism, alone, at the new appa.
Tuesday happens to be different.
He thought two students were following him, for no reason.
A boy from the Battle Programming club, and an older woman which is already an official, and helps the navigation master with huge number of other race's Protocols.
Again at home, he tries to create winds, but nothing happens. He can only feel the air in the place, what's said on the databank to be the basic skill.
Then, Wednesday becomes a strange day.
Strangers gaze him, wherever he goes, and even some officials seem to want to have a good look at him. Nowhere to hide, he keeps the study of Protocols up, which is his worst matter.
On the way home, he thought he sees an older man from the Academy, but as soon as he tries to look again he's just vanished.
He learned from the databank the basic knowledge of elementalism.
Only on mythology the knowledge of this magic was common, and that's a strange thing. That caused the other races, the major races rakma, jackal and ly'ène, to warn the race ikka to stop their experiment with monotheism with this world, at least while they study elementalist magic. The ikka rejected the advice. What happened was that part of those incredible action of the nobles of Akkoya, when they gathered all that was magical and those who did magic to say they needed to become secret societies. There was a final war, and the elementalist practicioners won over the religious monotheists. So, winners, they listened to the nobles with anger, but the most important elmentalist from the mythic eras, Torièn, called their attention to the fact that the common people fear magic. That was the essential and most important argument to turn just everything into a secret.
It is said Torièn is indeed still alive.
His mastering of all elements makes him essentially immortal.
"Now, that's interesting,...", Eryck thinks, impressed.
Thursday he was sure there is something going on, and he just can't avoid many strange people looking at him, or even talking with their right hand on the side of their mouth, even alone.
That was clear, and no one was hidding anymore. They follow him, and simply vanish when he looks again, in any atempt to talk to them.
He could not stop it until the next day, Friday.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjTkxMAeFcc
There's an older boy, the best astrophysics student, Býl, who was looking strangely to him yesterday, and Eryck found him in the corridor.
- Did you lost something? It's not just you, Býl. There's a lot of people looking strangely at me - Eryck could not find a better way to talk about it.
- I think,... (he made a soft noise with his throat), that when we have a strong vocation to what we are doing, everyone notice.
- What do you mean with that? Be direct and clear.
- Well,... what are you thinking about it?
Eryck could not help thinking about his elementalist studies.
- That's precisely this, Eryck.
"Everyone read minds, now?", he forced himself to think as an answer.
- I think everyone has the right to think you're special, and you are, but it's just something new. The news get old very fast. I think during the next week this all will be over.
A man called Býl from the other end of the corridor.
- I have to go. See you later.
"How did they found out about this? Byènca's too solo. The older biker, or they read my mind, and the third's really the most probable", he thought.
- You're annoying, you all. Nothing new can happen into our lives, and you all gets busy to know what's new about that person over there. So, that's it? - he just asked looking a woman who was looking at him, from the other side of the corridor. ("Me", he forces himself the thought).
Eryck looked everyone, as a mad man. The only official on the place, and older man with white hair laughed high, as it was a response to his sudden weirdy way.
"Oke,... I need to find out how to protect my mind", he concluded in silence.
(The first annoying Dream)
Once Eryck helped himself on the Academy's restaurant food, he sitted in a corner. Everyone's looking at him, as he was a stranger from other world. He starts eating, looking madly to the people there, but then, he choked, and soon he could not breathe. It was poison, he can feel. He'll be dead in a moment. He can't breathe. Eryck tries to find the magic words to breathe, but he can't speak.
At the moment he's going to die, he wakes up.
Sweating, and trembling.
- It's the second time they try to kill me while I'm sleeping. If it goes this way, I won't live more than a month - he says, breathing fast.
He looks to the Pk, and it's 08:09 on the morning.
It's Saturday, a sweet relief.
(In her special magic place they talk)
The young navigator jump on his skyboard, and goes to the gatherplace.
By the time he was just getting there, he had an idea, and he tries to fly using the air element, and it really happened. He gets off the board, a measure, and he then falls and tries to hold on the board. "Wow! Shit!" he shouts, holding the backside of board really fast and strong.
- Whose was the idea of trying to fly,... flying? - he mumbles.
Minutes later, Eryck gets to the gatherplace.
Seeing Ryklant from above finds absolutely no words to describe. The Office Tower, at the mountains, is the tower control for aerial move. Of course you have to take much care if you're near an aerial via, but most of the time, people want to stay on the ground. The mountains circle the central area and separe it from the westside, where the belvederes show the plantation areas, with more than a hundred farms. Farms handled with worker droids. The south is where you can find the Neighborhood Twelve, and the Hangar Twelve, in which every single ship must take time to sign papers, and do Protocols. At north and northeast, a middle mass nighborhood. Going northeast, from 150 great measures through a thousand great measures, a shadow under the sky, a region of ruins, old ruins, most hotels and touristic areas today. To the very east, the Inner Sea. To the southwest, the Sea of Fish, the first place to consider democracy during the mythic eras of the past.
Then, Eryck understood how he could do magic.
The heights are the natural ambient of Air/Winds, his element. It was a bad idea to try that, but now he knows once more that this all, for all that matters, is not a dream.
Byènc came, but she was flying too high, so he gets up the board and goes up.
"Is she hiding? What from?", he thought.
He came to her in there, and called for her, but she didn't stoped. Byènc went higher and higher, so all he could do was follow her. His legs were freezing, passing through the level of clouds, but she didn't stoped until they were really upside the clouds, where a neverending peach sun heats up everything. Then, Eryck saw happy that his skeighta's suit could handle those temperature changes, and soon look at the clouds, and they're like a tapestry, an infinite tapestry.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfrgI87NdNs
She stoped, and waited for him.
- It's beautiful. What happened,... you seem not to want to be tracked?
- Yey, right. Good morning - she answered.
- Good morning. What happened?
- You tell me. How was your week at the Academy?
- Everyone looking at me. Even the best students in the House.
- And did you understand what happened? - her voice is sametone, as always.
- Somehow, yes,... I'm not sure if someone spread the word, or they've read my mind.
Byènc stays in silence, for a long minute. He starts to think "How can I protect my mind?", and so she breaks the silence.
- You're right. You must worry 'bout that, but they don't wait for you to protect yourself. The only ones who care too much for protection are two, we independents, or the guilty ones.
- So, what the pèssec should I do 'bout it?
- Have you seen something different? Unusual?
- I think the ones who saw something abnormal were them. By side, noth.
- Well, Eryck, I have to say,...
- I know. The Academy of Magic, Politics and Power. It's part of the Mythology. And everyone knows. How comes I did not know about it before?
- Yes. You're now studying in a different Academy, even if it's the same. It's like the Mythology, really. You're right, and it's all in the media.
- How could thèy notice me?
- Your aura.
- What?
- I can see your aura, but only in attune state.
- Attune state?
- Do you remember the village? That's it. Let's go down, then.
- Why? Why did you came here to talk?
- Orbes.
- What?
- It's a magic focus. You can see anywhere, once you know where is there.
- I doubt someone know this where.
- Me too. I came here to tell you one thing.
- Tell me. I'm here.
- You have your lessons, right? Go straight to meditation teachings. You must control your mind. You think too loud, what's normal, but that's my words on that. You must learn meditation.
- I "think" too loud?
- Telepathy's also a passive power. Dunno how it works with magic, but I believe it's the same. We telepaths listen to everyone's plain thoughts, all the time, but we need much training to read deep thoughts, and the systheme, which is somewhat near what phenomenologists says deep counsciousness is like. We need control. And control's only got with much training, and pain.
- I didn't know it were just alike.
- I'm from Tanahta, and there things are a bit different. We, independents, we are the major force, and all Traditions must adapt to that. We learn with pain, and by the needs of the moment.
- I study in an Academy of Magic, and,...
- Hey! You can't say that in there - she was afraid, "What's she affraid of?" he thought, trying to test how to hide his own thoughts.
- Wouldn't it be easier if I took magic classes in there?
- I don't know. I don't understand what is an Academy - she says.
- How did you know I had an atypical week?
- I deduced. This is the most important Academy on the Alliance of the Three Races.
- You mean,... Academy of Magic? I didn't know that.
- Well, this is all I can tell you, right now.
- All you "can", or this is only what you know? - he suggested.
- Wrong,... (she paused), wrong knowledge at the wrong moment. Do as I tell you, and study meditation tricks, as to empty your mind. Let's go.
Down is always more about skeighta feelings than up.
They drive west. There, they see the huge farms on the ground. All with patterns of plantations, on uncountable hills, with uncountable water pools.

This session of play took place on June 29, 2011, my place. It runned from 00:15 til 06:10, on a cold night, here, but inside story, it's spring time.
Hope you enjoy your reading, and....

(New Character)
Eryck, ejik, 16, common person, skeighta, a boy from the countryside
# As soon as he became of age, right now, he moved to Ryklant, a major capital city, to start his life, work, and study on a major technical school, and get his degree on starship piloting
Archetype: Wild Spirit
Place of origin: Muoibuac, 50k inhab, Nation of Abbac
Tribe, Nation or Business: skeighta, studying starship piloting at the Academy of Ryklanta
Mote: "Hey! Fly, tomorrow by the mountains"
(Starting Point: The Fuse)
He woke up early. The first thing noticed was a smell, a terrible smell. As fart. As brimstone. A look at his Pk, and he's just in time.
No second could be lost.
The Academy doesn't tolerate being late, but there's nothing important marked on the computer, so he hurried to get ready, calm, and called the porter.
- Toe, there's a terrible smell in here, coming from another appartment.
- I'll send a droid to find it. We're sorry.
With a movement, he stepped onto his board and it flew up. At this very moment, he listened to a loud scream, from the apartment above.
He jumped out off the window...
... but he was very curious.
Silently, driving his skyboard, he slided close to the enourmous building, and looked for the above apartment window.
There, he saw a dark skin man, alien maybe, taking off a knife from the old woman, on the floor.
He got his Pk to film, but then he saw a shadow, like mist.
It was a small spectre, like a stony creature, in wings, and it pointed it's hand in his direction. A strong flashlight came out...
... and he woke up.
Sweating, he notice he's dressed up to go the Academy. "How could I...(?)", he thought, but he tried to ignore and got his Pk computer.
At the dream, it was eight, but it's now nine in the morning.
- Huoy, porter. Did I called you earlier?
- I'm not sure, but I don't think so. May I help you?
- Nothe, oka. Thanks.
It's too late to go to Academy, but it doesn't hurt to see what on today.
Math astrophysical calculation, in Navigation.
- Damn. I like it.
- I see you're online, Eryck. (it was his instructor, Doctor Klug).
- I missed today's class. Love math.
- I'll give you the notes, boy. But you'll need to study it to make it even. It's your best theme, I know, so you study alone and give me your notes, right?
- Right oka.
"It's time to go the gatherplace and train acrobatics", he thinks.
But curiosity, mixed with fear, made Eryck move sliding through the window on his skyboard, and see his neighbor to look for an answer.
The old woman was sitting in a corner, dressed to a wake, and two young girls were putting everything on boxes, as it looks like she's moving, so.
Confuse, he drives the skies heading the gatherplace.
The gatherplace is, like every other, a public old building used by skeightas as a safeplace. It's no luxe. More of a home, to many.
- Hi, you. Pal, I had a strange dream today.
So, he told it all but the film attempt, and swallowed the part that he woke all dressed.
There is a skeighta girl, preaty look, about twenty few years old. She has a long white hair, and she doesn't talk much with anyone.
As soon as Eryck told the dream everyone, he sensed a presence on his back. It's the very first time he sensed anything this way on his life.
It was the white hair girl, just after him.
- Did you film?
- Oh, well. I tried, but there nothing in my Pk.
She just went to her training, so. No more words. But, "How could she know I tried to film that?" he thought, and he had an idea.
- Hey, everyone! Fly, tomorrow by the mountains. What on that?
- I know a place. It's a ruin, but it's safe. (said an older skeighta, 35, short hair). By the end of Buole area, there's an old farm ruin. All that farm things, seventeen buildings, very old, in ruins, all constructed onto one another, all down to a huge valley, those movie settings.
- Perfect.
The white girl came to listen, and stoped by the talking boys.
- Do you come? - Eryck asked her.
- Wait for me there.
She just answered, and she's the prettier skeighta ever. Eryck got happy with that. She hardly even talk with anyone, and she haven't get off his mind for the rest of the day.
He passed the day training hard, to impress the white girl, but she didn't look, more interested in the younger and new skeightas, from nine to eleven.
As Eryck got home this night, he was tired enogh to go sleep.
This was exactly the plan.
Dreams came with ease, but they were fractal nightmares. He was jumping over spider's nests, feeling venon on his skin. Sweating. Trying to wake up, and nothing. He remembers waking a couple of times, but that dreams were so real, and so deep, and so terrifying.
He could not say what was real, and what doesn't.
In a moment of wake, Eryck opened his eyes and saw a person by his bedside.
He went to deep dreaming, again.
"It was real. I was real. I need to wake up. It was real", he thought repeatedly, trying to wake from the mares of deep ocean, dark and hollow.
Suddenly, he entered despair, total despair.
He felt no gravity, so yet it's dreaming. He tried to react to a murdering. He saw the dark skinned alien, like a shadow.
The whoever was in there, stoped, and steped back.
- Hoe, shit! - Eryck listens to the man's voice.
It was like an ejik voice, so he's not so alien, he's got to be the murderer from the day back. But the old woman was there, on the next move.
What the shout is happening?
Eryck listened to things falling, his shelf.
"It's real. It's real. Gotta wake! Waaake!", he tried to scream, but didn't.
He opened his eyes, and he was raised on the air. Everything was moving, like a hurricane, inside his appartment, and so he saw the man desapearing.
The invader became a shadow, and Eryck listened to a large "pop", opening his eyes, wide.
He WAS in the air.
When the man desapeared, he really woke up.
It was real.
- Woooooooooah!
Everything stoped flying, and he fell listening to his bed sound of crashing.
He immediately sat, snorting.
It was real. Really. He rushed to get his stuff into his bigger backpack, steped on his skyboard, and runned off the window.
- Shit! - he said two minutes later.
He was flying in no direction, with a sense of danger, fear in his veins.
So, he just remembered a safeplace. A hostel. Mountain Greens, the name. There, he could sleep and move on, step by step. Well, the appartment is not safe, anymore.
What the hell was that?
But wait. I've never been there, at this hostel whatever,...
He stoped, in mid air.
Then, he imagined seen the hostel on the network. It doesn't matter, he knows the direction. He always know, a thing he never understood, but that's nice, now.
The ground became darker, and the hostel he sees is a ruin.
He sees the mark, a skeighta's older boarder ideogram, saying "Danger", but there's someone in there, he can see, there's someone down there.
She steped on her skyboard, hug the board as always, and look up him up there.
"No way she can see on this black night", but he started to go down, sweet and soft, and when coming to the ground, he slided sweetly to her side.
- What happened?
- Drink this. (she got a small bottle from her belt). It'll help you. It's ice whisky.
"What the hell is ice whisky?", he thought, but he drinked, anyway.
A dry and cold goosebump came as he drunk, relaxing him, in many ways, softing his mind and emotions, another goosebump, it takes eight seconds, maybe, and so it's over.
- It's good.
The white hair girl, he couldn't get off his thoughts all day long, she was there, looking to the void, wainting for something, in the dark.
- What the hell was that?
- I'm here to help you. (she said).
- What you mean? You're a skeighta more than me. You were there, before me. And I know your family's skeighta for many generations.
- Yes, I'm a skeighta much longer before. I just saw something in what you told, your dream, and so I decided to follow you.
There was only silence, no words, for a while.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YfKn62wwMM
- I followed you to keep you safe, but it looks like they were only going to erase your memory. If the man would harm you, I'd step in. But then, well, everything started to fly and you didn't needed my help.
- Help?
- Nice oka. Follow me.
She steped on the board, and waited.
He did the same, wating for a move and direction to go, but...
... she started to fly.
She moved upwards, with no board.
Flying. Really flying.
Eryck started to follow her, sliding softly upwards holding his skyboard hard.
When they got a middle height, twenty normeasures, maybe, she stoped, and waited for him. He looked her with nothing to say.
- Node,... - he had nothing more to say.
A minute passed.
- Let's go down - she whispered.
The only thing he could not help thinking happened. No one had ever seen her boobs. Oh, shit. She's always holding the board in front of it.
How could he not think of it, when he saw her with no board first time? Tsc.
When they came down, she immediately steped on the board, and huged it in front.
- Let's go the ruins. (her voice's always the same tone).
- What happened?
- If I knew, I could explain it to you.
- Noe, I'll have to move on. My house's destroyed.
- Hmm,... destroyed, well, not exactly. Messy. But it's a good idea to move on.
They stay in silence, once more.
She seats on the board, and Eryck lay on his.
- How... did you make it... you... fly?
- It's all in here - and she pointed her finger to her own head.
More silence.
- Hold on your skyboard.
He did it. Just in time, for his vision was pulled off his eyes, and he saw everything. He's looking from up and outside of his own window.
A man appeared from nothing, dressed in what looks like shadows.
He looks at the sleeping Eryck with evil on his eyes, and came closer to the bed, raised the right hand, around which appeared a transparent energy.
Eryck, he himself, is mumbling "wake" in terrible nightmares.
In a moment, it all starts to be hold in the air, and a true hurricane came to existence.
The man cries "Shit", and the shelf falls.
At the same time Eryck is raised in the air, with all what, the man goes away with a large "pop", and he sees himself looking to the place the man had so become shadow.
It's over.
Eryck came back to his self.
- Noe! How did you do it?
- It's all in here - said her, and she pointed her own head again.
- I'm going to sleep - and he turned aside to sleep.
(Day 2, Saturday, the ruins by the rocks, Ryklanta, springtime first weeks, 2.056)
Eryck woke but kept his eyes closed. Is it true? Does he really saw all that? Was it a dream? Terrible, but he was like wainting. He could not believe. He was almost killed, on his own appartment, by a shadow man, and that so beatiful white hair skeighta was there for him.
He smelled caoffee, from the other appartment.
So, he opened his eyes.
The vision of the ruins are dirty, but his feelings he would never be able to explain. The white girl is on a side of a fire, and she's same tone again.
- There's caoffee.
- Great! Hey, let's go earlier to the gatherpoint? Take off things from my head. To enjoy adreanaline of this new day rising?
Eryck saw the caoffee pot fluctuating, she filled the two mugs, and back to the fire.
- Come?
- There's a thing I need to explain to you - she sametoned again.
- What?
- No one will believe, if you tell.
- I'm not telling anyone. Believe me. I wouldn't believe in this all myself.
She just drunk her caoffee, in silence.
Twenty minutes later, they were the first buddies on the gatherplace. A huge ancient farm, in ruins, all over a side of a mountain.
One by one, skeightas were coming.
Eryck was only interested in the adrenaline, to make forget, as it were the last day of his life.
Five hours later he got tired.
Skeightas were having a barbecue, fresh meat, and he went to talk with everyone. Two older guys praised him for his acrobatics.
- Hey. People, you won't believe. Someone invaded my appartment tonight.
- Node, crap! Did they stole something? - asked a small gril.
- I haven't noticed, but I think not. It's not possible to live in there, anymore.
- Hoe! There's the hostel, Refuge, by the south, near Hangar Twelve. It's a nice place, you'd better look - said an older skeighta.
- Fro some days I guess I'll do it, til get a new appartment.
- Roll I come? - asked the small girl, softly.
- Formed, pal. I'll paste. At least til I get a new appa.
- Good luck. I'll visit you later - wished the girl, with a nap of fingers.
"She's not a top, this girl, but she's pretty too. Blue eyes, white skin, black hair...", Eryck thought, while starting to eat the snacks.
It was four on the afternoon, the time he saw the white hair girl last time.
- Hoe, Obec! That white hair girl, you know? What's her name?
Obe is an older skeighta, 32, and he answered "Byenc", what means "white", simply. "That's how everyone calls her, anyway", he added.
Better answer than no answer.
At the hostel, called Refuge, a long building made of red bricks, he called his parents, back there in the region of Abbac, to tell them (not everything).
- I'll going to need a new place to live. My appartment was invaded last night. I'm on a hostel, and I need credit to search for a place. Reorganize.
- Hi, son. (it was his father). Terrible. Here come credits. (tut-tut, made his Pk computer). But,... are you oka? What happened?
- I'm oka. I wasn't home.
- Search for a better neighborhood, this time. It's all fine, here at the farm. Your mother's doing cake, and let us know your vacation time. Send news.
- I'll do it. Right.
I've sent the new address, to the hostel. When he got a bed, it was in a common thirty beds or more room, and a guy stay snoring, but that's right.
There he felt safe once more.
(Day 3, Sunday, just near enough Neighborhood Twelve (but that's right), Ryklanta)
This morning, he wake up and go the old appartment.
He quickly got everything, put into boxes, and called a taxi. So, the porter came to talk. He wore a face he never wore before.
- Hoe. Is it you're moving? There's a letter for you, I've just remembered.
"A letter?", what.....
- Owe. The control's owing you money, didn't? Awn,... your appartment had been broken. Awn,... security fail, oka, we're very sorry. You'll have a deposit in credit for that. Sorry.
"I haven't mentioned it to have been invaded. What the hell is going on?", Eryck thought.
On the taxi.....
- Hey, cab. Do you remember receiving a... "letter", from mail corporation, ever?
- Twice, younger. - said the old driver - Only twice. It happens the mail corps do deliver order from everywhere, but it all come from network most of the time, basically.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIZbGcldve0
He looked to the letter, and there was a symbol on it. Fluctuating, as a hologram. That would be normal, even if there's no mail corporation stamp, but it wasn't.
Then, he opened it.
"Greetings, Eryck. This night I dreamed of you. The world is strange, but it may be a nice place. Not everyone wants to harm you. Remember.
Good luck.
Olýka, the seer".
"Seer?", Eryck was kinda lost.
He called for a screen from the Pk, and search mode found no entry on "Olýka, the seer" on the network. As it all couldn't get stranger.
To find a new appa is an easy thing, when you've got the creds.
Eryck chose a new appartment in the border of Nighborhood Twelve, a hard neighborhood. But well, he doesn't care much.
And,... he's a skeighta, after all.
He took at least two hours to put everything on it's place.
And so, it became dark night outside.
(One week later)
The Academy got his thoughts off those weird stuff, at least.
Eryck is studying Starship Nativation, on a technical level, for now seven months. Later, he'll be able to find a real pilot and learn it all himself.
Math is his best discipline, and so calculation.
He has some friends in the Academy, but this week he turned away to himself, with the very specific cause of forgetting everything.
And so, it came friday, and Byenc got back to his mind.
He decided to hang out.
No better place to go, if not that ruins nearby. With luck, Byenc would be in there. It's so strange this all, he can't stop thinking of her.
That's just because she's a pretty kitten, he thought.
The ruins are deserted. Even this way, he slided from the south and went down to see. He went to the same place they slept the other night, and there were a fire partially extinguished.
"I knew it. She's around".
He graffited just by the fire, an small ideogram to say "Safeplace", and steped his skyboard. But well, he just faked leaving.
When leaving, he saw a shadow passing from one tree to another.
He was attentive to every sound.
That was strange, so he decides to fly higher, and from above he sees a symbol, on one of the dozen rock ruins, that is a square cutted crossly by two straight lines.
Even Eryck knows this is a symbol of a group of gods in mythology, but he wish to know more about it than the rare bits of info got from movie media now.
So, he got to a place where he would see and not be seen.
Minutes later, he sees a flying speederbike coming. It comes closer, and stops at the very ruin he went, a three floor rock ruin that looks like a living place, or a side building for some ancient construction, but the biker takes off the protective shield, and enter.
He sees Byenc appearing from nothing, just by the fire.
Deciding to come closer, he wants to come sudenly from the upper level through the window, so he slides silently til there, and come up.
He headed down and entered. Byenc saw him, but none of them got impressed, really. She was in front of the fire, waiting.
- Why you took so long? I'll hot the caoffee, then.
The old man's voice was friendly.
- Eryck.
- How may I call you? Byenc?
- Yes.
- There are other people in here. I saw a shadow.
- This place has... spirits.
- I've neve seen a spirit before.
- Awn,... this is Awin.
- Pleasure - said the old guy, middle age, with grey hair and goatee.
- This only time will tell - answered Eryck.
The old man smiled and went to the fire and touched the caoffee pot. It immediately started to boil. So, Byenc got three mugs off her backpack.
- Caoffee's ready. Knew you'd got the mugs, Byenc. (said the old man).
They three sitted by the fire.
- You were waiting for me. What for?
- Awin is a friend of my family. He doesn't live here, so that's why he took so long. He's a wizard.
- Waw.
- Well, I don't know yet why I came, but I'm here.
- I'm waiting, too. (resumed Eryck).
- Actually, Awin, I have only a suspition, but no sure on anything. Well, Eryck. I think you made things fly that day, that's all.
- Right. From guess to be sure,... you brought him for this?
- Yes.
- Awin, how are you going to be sure?
- There are many ways to do this.
- I hope there is actually one that doesn't involves pain.
- I'm exactly trying to think on them, but they are very few. I wish you to know.
- Choices?
- Under pressure, induction, and pain.
- If Byenc called you here, this is obviously a must know.
- Your aura show no special condition, basically - the old man said, looking around Eryck's head.
- I'm not sure it's good.
They went to silence, during a moment.
- The faster way is pain, isn't it? So, let's get it done. I want to get it off my mind.
Immediatelly, everything that happened desapeared from Eryck's mind, as it were never there, and he was transported to the exact time when it happened, one week before. He lived it all again, as it were the first time, to have the same reactions. All exactly perfect. And when he wake, it was not at his appartment, but on the ancient ruins at the base of Ryklant's mountains. Everything was in the air, including himself, but it all stoped and he started to fall.
- AAAaaaaaaaaaaahh..........
He stoped, levitating smallmeasures from the ground.
Eryck look to his skate, and sitted promptly.
- Negative, there's nothing wrong with me, isn't it? (silence). Damn.
He passed his left hand on his own face, still not believing.
- Huhm... yes (started the middle age wizard),...
- Yes, what?
- You have a rare magical gift. (silence). It's called elementalism.
- Huh?
- Elementalism.
- It was not my answer.
- It was.
- And what can I do, now? It's not nice when someone gets into your home, and try to erase your memory.
- Of course not. It'll take a few moments. Wait.
The wizard ordered a screen on the air to his Pk, and started to speak on a different language. He hadn't polirized the screen, so Eryck was seen an avatar talking on it. It took only two minutes. The loading ended, and the wizard ordered off the screen.
- You Pk (asked the wizard to Eryck),...
The computer made the tut-tut, and the wizard put his back on his speederbike jacket.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xF5pM3UajQ
- This is (the wizard started) a databank. Basic instruction. Wind element. If you don't study this, you can be danger to everyone, or worst, to yourself.
- So, I don't have even the option to not learning. (Eryck didn't question, only affirmed this, hoping he was not right, this time)
- No.
- Which language is this?
- Oh, Trade. This is the language of commerce. It's spoken in several galaxies. Actually, many noble corporates speak it, too.
- I've listened to it in movies.
(the strange group stay in silence once more, and Eryck served himself more caoffee).
- Awin, have you ever heard of Olýka?
- Oka! Olýka! She's a great Seer. She sees everything, everything. It just happen she doesn't speak to anyone for the last five years, actually.
- I received a letter from her.
- That's good.
- You want to say it's always good?
- No. But it's good. Well, I'm not sure, but I better think it's good.
Minutes later, the wizard wave farewell to the duo, mounting his speederbike. "There no way out", was what Eryck was thinking.
- Hey, this is a greeting, this move. You put your hand on the chest, same way you did to enter the ruins the other day. Why did you do that?
- Ee. That's probably not in your databank, but it's better explain. (said Byenc). Every ruin, in every corner of the Universe is a sacred place. That's called Necropolis.
- Nice name for that.
Eryck saw she almost smiling, for the very first time. He knows she never smiles. He was trying to make she smile, but he couldn't imagine how to do it.
Although this everything are all new, he's happy now.
- I'm coming closer, now - he said.
- These places have necroform. Nekron. These places show psychic manifesting. They are home to poltergeists, and spirits. That's almost like feeling home.
"Not exactly", he was thinking this time.
- Ah. Eryck. There's something I need to explain to you. Common people, they.....
- I know how this is.
- ,... they react strangely to magic.
- Well, I saw it.
- Are you prepared? - and Byenc inverted the fire, with the ground, so earth from below came upside.
- This was better than before, earlier.
- That,... was an illusion - she answered, sametone as usual.
Byenc steped her skyboard, and he followed.
She let him in to see every danger-marked place on the mountains. On one, she made a "Ssh.," and they entered a dark wood area.
Moving slowly, the duo got near a strange house, in the woods.
There was a small creature, greyish, half green, with pointed ears, who was fixing a wall clock. He got stunned, to see a creature.
Byenc explained it's a bogling, when they got off there.
It was nearly morning when she invited him to see something she like, and she took him to a very beautiful monastery, where she got down and steped in front of the hard doors. He followed. A small wicket opened, and she spoke that language again, Trade.
They entered a large monastery courtyard.
As the day was raising, monks came from everywhere. So, the oldest steped on a higher place, and they started to practice early movements of martial arts, in silence.
After that, which took half an hour, they all went in silence to their do-a-do, but one came to the duo to talk with them.
Byenc said something in trade language.
The monk so took the cork off his water bottle and levitated it. The mass of water stoped in mid air, and sudenly it freezed, forming a beautiful ice christal.
He turn the ice back into water, and put his hand on his chest.
Eryck did it too, for the first time.
When they got off there, they went walking down the road, not flying, and Eryck started to feel this may, one day, be good.
Byenc stoped, looking to a village.
- What?
- I'm trying to see, but probably I won't be able to see. Why don't you try?
- What? - he questioned again.
- There's a symbol at every entrance of wizarding villages. But I could never see it. I wish I could. Try. You must concentrate a lot, but try.
He started to concentrate, with all his will.
Some moments passed, and so he saw it, just around the biggest tree. "It's there. I can see", he said to her. And so, he tried to describe, as "I can't exactly say what this is. It's like words can't describe it, but I'm sure it's a symbol, and I'm also,... sure, it's magical".
Then, a man came out off of a house, and started to look at them.
Eryck was too concentrated, but he saw him. It was a strange feeling, this. He tried to see everything again, but everything was strange.
He forced his mind back, and it all came back to normal.
- Hoe, hoe. Finally. You got off the trance. There's a man down there, and I think it's better if we go, now.
- I know. I was trying to say that, but it was all strange.
- I don't know which language you were speaking, but it wasn't Oka.
- I was speaking another language?
They went away, before the wizards all came to see what was wrong.
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvrole5juEw
Byenc suggested a hostel, by the bervedere. Just fifteen minutes away, so they got there safely. She was looking really tired.
- Yes, I'm really tired. I don't sleep for three days already.
- So, let enter and sleep.
- Before that, I'll have to say. Guard. That's the only safeway to sleep. I'll sleep first. You keep your eyes opened, and guard me.
- I'll be on your side.
They entered a big sleeping room. There was a restaurant, also. All doors were showing the "Silence" words on 'em, and the place was really calm and peacefull.
He guarded her for five hours, until a fat boy, entering the room, let all his stuff fell to the ground.
Byenc immediately sitted, awakened. Her eyes were full black. Eryck noticed that, and he felt fear coming from her, and he didn't move.
Seeing everything was oka, she closed her eyes, and they came normal after she opened again.
He came closer to her, to say.
- You were expiring "poison", so... do you know that? - he was affraid someone noticed.
Fortunately, no one there make a move. It was all right, and she just said "Your time to sleep", and prepared to guard him, sitting and pretending to read something on the network. So, he started to think of what had happened, and remembered where he saw that black eyes. It's the Ikka race's eyes of fury. They enter this state to survive, but they kill everyone on sight.
So, it all came. She half Ikka. This is her secret.
Eryck remembered she can read minds, and opened his eyes to look at her.
Byenc was smiling, for the very first time.
He turned to a side, and started to sleep, safe, finally.
- Hey, I'll have many things to do this week. So,... we can see each other next week?
It was more than he expected. He went home with her face on his mind. Her secret's safe. The safety, and the sensation of safety he sensed while she was on guard, and prepared to one more week at the Academy. A different one. One in which he'd be studying Starship Piloting together with the basics on his new secret study, on which he thought would be special, from the basics, or he'd be in danger, again.
(End of Session)

Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YfKn62wwMM
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIZbGcldve0
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xF5pM3UajQ
Music :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvrole5juEw
What happened to the invader man? Who was him?
Hope you're enjoying your reading,...
